The Bose SoundLink around-ear wireless headphones ll is another addition to the Bose Corporation consumer product that takes a new design, without straying away from the company’s quality.

Wireless connectivity and performance

With all wireless headphones, it is obvious that they do not cause your cables to tie up or faulty wires that need to be replaced every few years. Therefore, this review will highlight its performance when comparing to wired headphones.

At first, I didn’t think wireless headphones could sound as good as wired, and along comes this headphone. I was able to connect between two Bluetooth devices without delay and experienced deep immersive sounds especially when watching movies or listening to music. The right earcup implements a multi-function controller.

Switching songs was easy.

Similar design to the previous gen

I tested the headphones while working, exercising, gaming and calling which all turned out quite well in fact.

I was able to use these headphones for all day without feeling uncomfortable, which is another perk for these on-ear headphones. When jogging, I was able to compensate for the noises; volume is not a problem. The HD Voice advanced mic system was great for games and general calling, even in windy conditions. The controls on the earcup allowed me to take/end calls without even reaching for my phone.

For NFC-enabled phones such as the Galaxy s9 I used, I was able to pair the headphones to the phones simply by placing the device to the right side of the earcup. This was very cool but not a required feature in my opinion.

Wireless range is up to 9 metres (30ft) and has two charge options: Regular: 15 hours’ play time (3 hours’ full charge)

Quick charge: 2 hours’ play time (15-minute charge)

Design

Build quality is the SoundLink’s forte when it comes to around-ear headphones. The impact-resistant materials, glass-filled nylon and corrosion- resistant stainless steel was nothing less than what I expected from a product by Bose. This is partly due to their history of making headphones for aviation and military use. The continuous headband design features a micro suede Alcantara cushion that evenly distributes weight and enhances stability, reinforced with soft-cushion earcups.

Verdict

Although this is a relatively expensive set of luxury headphones, you get what you pay for.

I recommend it for anyone looking for that extra atmosphere when listening to music, or those who are searching for a fashionable tech accessory. This is the third pair of Bose headphones I have purchased and they are my favorite by a long way, as they have lasted for over a year with my active testing.
